A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea will continue to extend a ridge over Victoria until a weak trough crosses the state on Wednesday. A new ridge of high pressure will begin to develop from the west as the trough contracts northwards on Thursday. The trough to the north is expected to dip back into the northeast on Friday while the high pressure ridge remains about the south and west.
