The trough is forecast to continue crossing Bass Strait this evening as a high pressure system crosses waters south of the Bight. The high is expected to be located near western Bass Strait by Thursday night before slowly crossing Bass Strait on Friday. On Saturday the high moves over the Tasman Sea and a cold front approaches from the west then crosses Bass Strait on Sunday.
