Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea directs a northerly airstream across Victorian waters. A trough and cold front will move into western Bass Strait overnight Saturday, and through remaining Victorian waters during Sunday. Behind the front, another high pressure system in the Bight will extend a ridge over Victoria, directing a west to southwesterly flow over Bass Strait. Winds turning east to northeasterly over Victorian waters later Tuesday as the high moves over Tasmania and into the Tasman Sea.
