Tonight a trough will develop over eastern Bass Strait, moving slowly west over central Bass Strait and the bays during Thursday before it gets pushed back to the east as the next ridge of high pressure develops in the Bight on Friday. The ridge will then extend over the coastal waters on Friday and Saturday.
