A ridge of high pressure in the Bight will direct southerly flow over Victoria until the middle of the week, with a trough moving ashore in Gippsland this afternoon connected to a cold front east of Tasmania.The trough reaches the bays during this evening. The high pressure centre will move over Bass Strait on Thursday and thence into the Tasman Sea on Friday.
