- A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is directing easterly winds across Victorian coastal waters. This pattern will continue into Friday as a low pressure trough crosses the Bight. The trough is forecast to enter western waters around the middle of the day on Saturday, reaching central Bass Strait during the afternoon before stalling over eastern waters at night. The trough will remain near stationary over eastern Bass Strait on Sunday and Monday.
