A high pressure system lies in the Great Australian Bight and extends a ridge over coastal waters. A low pressure system will develop over the Tasman Sea late Saturday night into Sunday and move slowly southeastwards early next week as the high pressure system in the Bight moves eastwards and then south of Tasmania. A cold front is forecast to approach from the west on Wednesday.
