Weather Situation
A large area of low pressure lies over Tasmania with its main centre to the northwest of the state. The low complex will slowly move to the east this morning, directing a fresh south to southeasterly airstream over the state. A narrow ridge of high pressure will then approach Tasmania from the west later today and will cross Friday morning with a cold front to follow later that day. A west to northwesterly airstream will then establish and prevail over Tasmania during Saturday and Sunday as an area of high pressure builds over the southeastern mainland and a series of lows and fronts pass well to the southwest.
