Weather Situation
A trough extends offshore over northern waters towards the Whitsundays, with an embedded tropical low east of Cairns. A high [1018 hPa] near New Zealand is maintaining a ridge over the remaining northern waters, and is combining with the trough and embedded low to enhance onshore winds along the tropical coast over the next few days. The trough and embedded low may combine with a developing monsoon trough across the far northern Coral Sea over the weekend.
