- Weather Situation
- A firm ridge extends over the north Queensland waters and will persist for the next few days. A trough extends from the northern Peninsula across the Peninsula Coast waters, and is forecast to move northwards to Torres Strait later this weekend. An embedded tropical low [1000 hPa] lies in the trough in the northern Coral Sea off the Peninsula east coast. It is expected to move slowly eastwards and remain well away from the Queensland coast over this weekend, turning to the southeast and then south next week, with further development of this system likely.
