Weather Situation

A northerly airstream along the coast is strengthening as a high pressure system near northeastern New South Wales is tracking to the northern Tasman Sea while a cold front moves through central parts of the state. The front will continue to move eastwards throughout the day, crossing Sydney Waters by Friday evening as a fresh to strong southerly change, before heading further north and reaching the far northeast corner by Saturday. Then, another ridge of high pressure will extend across Sydney Waters during the weekend through the early new week, interrupted by a series of troughs brushing Sydney coast as coastal southerly changes, the first one on Sunday and the second one on New Years Eve.
