A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge into northeastern New South Wales, directing a northeasterly airstream along the coast. A trough has brought a southerly change to southern waters overnight, extending to central areas during Wednesday before stalling. The trough will slowly decay through Thursday as northeasterly winds become reestablished, before another trough and southerly change reach southern waters late Friday and central areas on Saturday.
