Weather Situation

The northerly airstream along the coast is strengthening as a high pressure system near eastern New South Wales is tracking to the northern Tasman Sea while a cold front over South Australia heads to western New South Wales. The front will enter the far south coast early Friday morning and continue moving north, crossing Sydney Waters by Friday evening as a fresh to strong southerly change, before heading further north and reaching the far northeast corner by Saturday. Then, another ridge of high pressure will extend across Sydney Waters during the weekend through the early new week, interrupted by a series of troughs brushing Sydney coast as coastal southerly changes, the first one on Sunday and the second one on New Years Eve.
