Weather Situation

The northerly airstream along the coast is strengthening as a high pressure system near eastern New South Wales is tracking to the northern Tasman Sea while a cold front over South Australia heads to western New South Wales. The front will enter the far south coast early Friday morning and continue moving across the southern and central parts of the coast through Friday, with a fresh to strong southerly wind change in the wake, before reaching the far northeast corner by Saturday. Then, the remnant feature of the front will become stagnant off the north coast and transition to a coastal trough while another ridge of high pressure extends across much of the coast during the weekend through the early new week, interrupted by a series of troughs brushing the southern and central parts of the coast as coastal southerly changes.
