Weather Situation

A northerly airstream along the coast is strengthening as a high pressure system near northeastern New South Wales is tracking to the northern Tasman Sea while a cold front moves through central parts of the state. The front will continue to move eastwards throughout the day, reaching the far northeast corner by Saturday morning. This system brings with it a cool, fresh and gusty southerly change in the wake. Then, the remnant feature of the front will become stagnant off the north coast and transition to a coastal trough while another ridge of high pressure extends across the south and east during the weekend through the early new week, interrupted by a series of troughs brushing the southern and central parts of the coast as coastal southerly changes.
