- Fresh to strong southerly winds will gradually weaken later today as a low-pressure system over the Tasman Sea continues to head further eastwards. A cold front looks set to approach the far south coast later Tuesday and continues to move northwards, crossing the remainder of the coast between Wednesday and Thursday while weakening to a trough, bringing strong southerly winds and large powerful waves in its wake. The system will reach southeast Queensland coast later this week and this will be followed by a strong high pressure system drifting across Bass Strait later this week, that will maintain onshore east to southeasterly airstream across the east.
