West to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots shifting southerly 15 to 25 knots in the morning then becoming south to southeasterly about 10 knots in the late evening. Winds reaching up to 30 knots south of Port Stephens in the late afternoon.

Southerly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres south of Port Stephens by early evening.

Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge extends across the coast, bringing generally settled weather. A cold front is forecast to cross the southern coastal waters later this evening bringing another southerly change, and progressing northward along the remainder of the coast today. After this another ridge is expected to build in the wake of the front with north to northeasterly wind building along the coast, bringing settled conditions for Christmas.
