- Weather Situation
- A ridge of high pressure extends across the state while a deep low pressure system lies over the southeastern Tasman Sea, bringing large and powerful waves to the coastal waters. Winds should shift northerly during the weekend as a cold front and its associated trough enters the state's west, reaching the coastal waters on Monday before deepening to a low pressure system off the coast early new week. Then, fresh to strong south to southeasterly winds will develop along the southern and central parts of the coast later Monday through Tuesday and spread to the north coast midweek as the low moves northwards.
