Weather Situation
A high pressure system over western Bass Strait will move east tonight and be located over the Tasman Sea by Saturday morning with winds tending northerly across Victorian coastal waters. Northerly winds will strengthen overnight Saturday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front is forecast to enter western Bass Strait early on Sunday, reaching central waters around dawn before crossing eastern Bass Strait during the early afternoon. A high pressure ridge will extend across Victoria late Sunday and persist into Monday as the next high approaches from the west. This high is forecast to cross Victoria early on Tuesday with winds tending light northerly over Bass Strait.
