MAJOR FLOODING WELL ABOVE 1974 FLOOD LEVELS OCCURRING AT THARGOMINDAH WITH RISES CONTINUING

MAJOR FLOODING EASING AT QUILPIE

Significant flooding is occurring along the Bulloo River due to recent heavy rainfall across the catchment.

River levels remain above the major flood level at Quilpie, but may fall below the major flood level overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Major flooding is continuing to rise downstream along the Bulloo River at Thargomindah where the river level is well above the level recorded in 1974.

Rainfall is forecast across parts of western Queensland in the coming days, which may cause renewed rises and further prolong flooding.

The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
