A strong high-pressure system near New Zealand is extending a ridge over New South Wales coastal waters, maintaining northeast to southeasterly winds. Winds continue to remain fresh north to northeasterly during today as a cold front and its associated trough approach the state, before a shift to south to southwesterly winds later in the week in the systems wake.
