Cyclone Alfred wind speeds: Track Brisbane, SE Queensland and NSW gusts

As Cyclone Alfred begins to batter the south-east Queensland coast and across the border into New South Wales, it's forecast to create destructive wind gusts above 100kph.

Many parts of the cyclone warning zone have woken to relatively still conditions this morning, with the adage 'calm before the storm' rarely more apt.
