The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has downgraded ex-tropical cyclone Zelia to below cyclone intensity.
It crossed the coast near De Grey, east of Port Hedland, at about midday yesterday ascategory four cyclone— butweakened to below cyclone intensityin the early hours of this morning.
Locals are still on alert withmajor flooding warnings in placeas the system moves inland through the eastern Pilbara.
