A southeasterly wind surge and strengthening ridge extends south of trough over far southern waters, with a weak ridge in place to the north of the trough. The trough and wind surge will shift northwards on Wednesday and may reach the Capricornia by Thursday. Beyond that, a firm ridge should remain in place across South Queensland Waters for a few days.
